All you need is to run the software on your computer and connect your camera. Even a current exif utility (ExifTool, which PIE uses under the hood, is generally the most up to date) wont help here - it looks like Canon simply doesnt record the shutter count in 7D Mark II image files.

For example, on my Canon 40D the last image shot shows an Image Number of IMG6847, a File Index of 6847 but by using EOSInfo my shutter count is 7670 (and I can see it increment with each shot using that utility.) Unfortunately, EOSInfo can't read the Canon 7D. gphoto2 -debug -debug-logfile FILENAME -q -quiet -v -verbose. The EOS Info software allows you to examine Canon camera shutter count along with other information related to a particular model, such as a firmware update, battery charge, and serial number.

You should get this in Kuso and more if you tick the square at the top left in KusoįocalLength35efl: 38.0 mm (35 mm equivalent: 38. But I suspect it should be in the Maker Notes somewhere.

Try downloading Kuso exif viewer, in the dropdown list ( click over unedited photo after download in the dropdown list) and you should get all the information you want. For example, here's what I get on Linux (additionally showing camera model to illustrate that it works for 1100D): gphoto2 -get-config cameramodel -get-config shuttercounter Label: Camera Model Type: TEXT Current: Canon EOS 1100D Label: Shutter Counter Type: TEXT Current: 13613.
